Our Purpose

To promote awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, provide support to caregivers through educational or financial resources, support funding for additional research, and encourage nursing students to choose senior care by funding scholarships.

About Us

We started our fundraising and support for Alzheimer’s  in 2012 with the hopes of expanding awareness and helping fight Alzheimer’s disease within Southeast Georgia.  We held our first softball tournament, The Miriam Burnette Memorial Striking Out Alzheimer’s Disease, started in July 2012.  Soon after,  we began our hosting tribute band concerts under Rockin’ Out Alzheimer’s.  Over the years, our focus has steered  to the concert series. The concert has become an annual tradition and receives strong support throughout our region.  We have raised over $1,200,000 to date.  Majority of the funds are used to support programs within our surrounding communities.

We reopened the Caring Closet to provide personal hygiene items for dementia patients and to provide educational resources. In addition, we provide funds to local caregivers and assist with education expenses Geriatric nursing students at Georgia Southern University and Ogeechee Technical College. Scholarships have been established at both colleges.

In 2023, we partnered with the Cognitive Awareness Research Education program through the University System of Georgia.  Their impact through resources and education have made a tremendous difference to dementia patients and their families.

The CONCERT

The 2025 Annual Fundraising Concert is set for Friday, August 1, 2025.
