The Rockin’ Out Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation (ROAD) is proud to announce that its 13th annual fundraising concert, held July 31, 2026 at The Blue Room in Statesboro, a remarkable $151,775 was raised —the highest amount ever raised at a single concert in the foundation’s history. This year’s total surpassed the previous record of $132,000 raised at the 2025 concert by nearly $20,000. For the fourth consecutive year, the event was completely sold out, demonstrating overwhelming community support for the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
The 13th Annual Rockin’ Out Alzheimer’s benefit concert featured Wanted, a Bon Jovi cover and, delivering a memorable night of music and community spirit. Doors opened at 6:00 pm, with Wanted hitting the stage at 7:00 pm, in honor of the legacy of the late Paul Akins, whose spirit continues to inspire ROAD’s mission.
While the annual concert is known for being a night of great music and entertainment, its impact extends well beyond the stage. Funds raised through the event allow ROAD to continue supporting programs and resources that directly benefit those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia in the local community and beyond.
Reaching a new fundraising record during the organization’s 13th annual event reflects the tremendous support ROAD continues to receive from sponsors, volunteers, attendees, donors and the Statesboro community.
“This event simply would not be possible without the incredible people and businesses who support us year after year,” said ROAD Board Member Darron Burnette. “To sell out for the fourth consecutive year and raise a record $151,775 is something we are incredibly grateful for. Every dollar raised allows us to continue making a difference for families navigating Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.”
Since its inception in 2012, Rockin’ Out Alzheimer’s has raised over $1.4 million in total funds, supporting initiatives such as the Caring Closet, caregiver education, and scholarships for nursing students at Georgia Southern University and Ogeechee Technical College.
Funds raised at this year’s concert will be directed toward:
- Expanding the Caring Closet, providing hygiene essentials to dementia patients in Bulloch and surrounding counties
- Supporting caregiver programs including educational and financial resources
- Awarding nursing scholarships to encourage students to pursue careers in senior and dementia care
- Providing support for Project Lifesaver, a reliable rapid-response partnership with the Bulloch County and Candler County Sheriff’s Offices aiding in victims and their families suffering from Alzheimer’s.
